Oh my, I have to talk…my name is Yuri Ann. I can be a little shy at first but I really want to love you. I am an Italian Greyhound that is almost five years old and weighs less than eleven pounds. I came to the rescue with my furry sister Lizzie. Our family didn’t have a place for us to live anymore so I am looking for a new, safe home.
I like to smile when I get excited. I do so love life just in a quieter way. Giving you kisses just lifts my spirits. I like to sleep under the covers or at least with a cozy blanket. In the colder weather I need my sweater or jacket because I don’t have a lot of insulation. I like all the other dogs and enjoy a good game of chase in the fenced yard when we go outside. Food, treats and loving all make my day.
I have been spay; micro chipped, vaccinated and am current on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. My adoption fee is 150.00. Please, pretty please go to Dogsasfamily.com and fill out an adoption application for me Yuri Ann. I need you to love me.

Dogs As Family is honored to be part of the Friends For Folks training program at Lexington Prison. Our dogs have the opportunity to spend about six weeks with a prisoner 24/7. During that time they are crate trained, house trained, leash trained, work on a agility course, and learn basic obedience. Some of our kids even learn extra skills like to play ball or frisbee and to shake, roll over or get a pat down.
As an adopter of one of these kids you are provided with instructions of the skills learned, a report card and a personal letter from the person who trained the dog. No dog is ever perfect but these skills are valuable assets for a loving family member.
Please feel free to visit the website friendsforfolks.org for more information about the program.
